What if the winning move isn't on the board—but in the window itself?

Window Gambit is a mind-bending puzzle game where different board games collide across overlapping desktop windows.

Drag, resize, squash, and rearrange game windows to create paths that would never exist on an ordinary board. Move pieces between different games, exploit their unique rules, and find a way to satisfy the winning conditions of every window.

The board is no longer the limit. The window is part of the puzzle.

Think Outside the Board

In Window Gambit, moving a piece is only half the solution. Sometimes, you need to move the entire board.

Shrink a chess window to let a pawn reach the promotion rank in a single move. Offset two windows to give a cannon in Chinese chess the screen it needs to capture an enemy piece. Or use gravity from Connect Four to send pieces falling into unexpected places.

When Rules Collide

Each board game follows its own rules—but what happens when they share the same space?

Pieces can cross between windows, and the rules of one game can interfere with another. Gravity can pull pieces out of position, while a black knight from chess might help surround white stones on a Go board.

Every puzzle challenges you to discover new interactions between familiar games.

A Strange Idea Born from a Joke

The idea began with a streamer playing Chinese chess and Plants vs. Zombies at the same time. Someone in chat jokingly shouted:

"Why don't you just use the rook to capture the zombie?"

That absurd suggestion sparked a question: What if pieces really could move between completely different games?

And what if the windows themselves became part of the rules?
